Two years ago, I wrote a blog post asking the question: AI—love it or ditch it? At the time, I was mostly experimenting with using AI to help generate MLS descriptions and brainstorming ideas. It felt like a shiny new tool—useful in some ways, but hardly essential.
Fast forward two years, and wow—things have changed. AI isn’t going anywhere and it’s moving faster than any of us imagined, and “ditching it” is no longer an option.
But here’s the thing: when it comes to buying or selling a home—the biggest financial (and emotional) decision many people will ever make—no robot, no algorithm, no ChatGPT prompt can replace sitting across from a real person.
You can certainly ask AI for the “10 best questions to ask a real estate agent” or even to estimate what your house is worth. But good luck with that. The real value comes from conversation, experience, and human connection—the kind of perspective that only comes from years of helping clients navigate the ups, downs, and surprises of real estate.
That’s why, from the very beginning of District Homes, we’ve been committed to working face-to-face. Our office on Solano Ave in Berkeley is a hub of energy and collaboration, and because we’re here together, we’re better agents for our clients. Meeting in person, touring homes side by side, and picking up the phone when you need advice—those are things AI simply cannot replicate.
So yes, we “love it.” We’ll keep using AI where it helps (no shame in having it polish a sentence or spark an idea). But when it comes to walking you through one of the biggest milestones of your life, we’ll always choose people over robots.
Because real estate isn’t just about data points—it’s about trust, relationships, and real conversations. And those can only happen human to human.
Call us, come visit us in person if you are around.
At District Homes, we are here for you, all in, always,
Anna
